The SMU Art Gallery is a fully physically accessible performance venue, with power-doors, and an entirely ground-level entrance and exhibition.
The production can easily accommodate an entire audience of wheeled or power chair seats per show.
There are gender neutral washrooms on site, as well as fully accessible washrooms and sinks.
If you are running late or unable to make a performance, please call or text our Front of House Manager Alex Mills at 902-719-5396. We will happily switch your tickets free of charge to another available performance. But once the show begins, the house is closed.**
Nearby Parking, Transit and Maps
The SMU Art Gallery is located on campus, and therefore can be a bit tricky navigating to. The easiest and most direct route to the gallery is on Gorsebrook Avenue, through the ‘Sobeys Inspiration Hub’ entrance, of Loyola Residence. Located at 5907 Gorsebrook Avenue.
There is a street barricade halfway down Gorsebrook Avenue, and the Art Gallery entrance is located on the side accessible from Tower Road. You are not able to drive straight up to the entrance doors if you use Robie Street to access Gorsebrook Avenue.
As this is a campus building, there is limited public (non-school) parking. On Gorsebrook Ave. (accessed from the Tower Rd. side) there is public street parking on both sides of the street, available after 6:00pm on weekdays, and available all day on weekends.
The closest Bus Stop to the Art Gallery is on Tower Road – Stop #8402 or #8401 (Tower Rd. after Atlantic St., or Tower Rd. after Rogers Dr.)
